My Story

of how I started dancing, and why I created this blog. 😊

I started dancing at the age of 8, and became seriously addicted at 13 when I realised that my life would be miserable if I ever stopped dancing – and so I started pursuing it.

However, as my family wasn’t doing great financially – my parents couldn’t help to afford the expensive class fees that came along supporting my dreams. I had to work multiple part-time jobs while studying so that I could take as many dance classes as possible..!

Be it a waitress, babysitter, tutor, zumba instructor, office administrator, sales woman… You name it – I’ve probably done it!

Because other than the classes, I needed the money to travel overseas for dance congresses to learn from the top in the scene and expose myself. Those trips definitely came with hefty price tags, but were absolutely worth it because they inspired me more than ever – to carve a career out of my passion.

I kept up with this till I was 17 years old, when I finally realised that this lifestyle was no longer sustainable. I was constantly exhausted from juggling these part-time jobs just to dance. I knew that something had to change, or I would burn out completely.

That’s when I started teaching dance classes to see if my passion could pay the bills.

Fast forward to today, I have more than 1000 students who trains with me on my online learning dance platform, lead dance teams in 3 different cities, and travel around the world frequently to share my craft of dance.

This path to becoming a successful international dancer, choreographer, & instructor was filled with countless obstacles and I wished that a mentor was able to guide me along, so that I didn’t have to make so many unnecessary mistakes thus far.

My goal here is to help YOU shorten your own growth curve so that you can get out of whatever bad situation you’re in, reach your dance/instructorship goals faster, and achieve success too.

I’ll be sharing my experiences, mistakes, and golden tips that I’ve learned from throughout my journey, and I hope it’ll be of help to any of you.
