Hi friends!
I’ve been loving the engagement on our #BLOcommunity @brendaliewonline and recently, after reading about our #BLOmembers’ struggles to post their own dance videos (because of self-doubt / self-criticism), i wanted to share my experience too. 🥲
Ever since I started to work towards being a dance instructor, I knew I had to post and share my dance videos online.
“But TRUST ME- for a long time, I too, struggled with sharing my dance videos SO MUCH!” 😬
I would spend hours watching my dance video and was hyper-critical of every move and flaw, before finding the courage to post it…
But after 1 video and another, I realized the world didn’t care as much as I thought…
Here’s what I learned:
- We Are Our Harshest Critics: The critical voice in my head was much louder than any feedback I received. Most people were supportive and encouraging. 😍
- Accountability and Improvement: Posting my videos publicly kept me accountable. I wanted to look my best, so I practiced more, refined my techniques, and pushed myself harder. This consistent effort led to noticeable improvements in my dance skills. 😉
- Conquering Fear: The more I posted, the more I realized the fear was all in my head. Each video became a victory over my self-doubt. 💪
- Community Support: Sharing my journey brought me closer to our dance community. The support and feedback were incredibly motivating. 🥲
So, to anyone nervous about sharing their dance videos—take the leap. You might be surprised at how liberating it can be.
Remember, we are often our own worst critics. Keep dancing, keep sharing, and keep growing. 💃🕺
Let’s support each other and push our boundaries. If you have a similar experience or advice, drop it in the comments below. ❤
Love,
B.
